Job Summary:
The Supply Chain Director is responsible for leading and overseeing the overall supply chain operations within the organization. The role involves developing and implementing strategies to optimize supply chain performance, driving efficiency, and ensuring effective coordination between all stakeholders. The Supply Chain Director will be instrumental in enhancing productivity, reducing costs, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
2. Oversee and manage all aspects of the supply chain, including procurement, planning, warehousing, transportation, and logistics.
3. Collaborate with key stakeholders to establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and other relevant parties.
4. Monitor and analyze supply chain performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate measures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
5. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices across the supply chain operations.
6. Lead and motivate the supply chain team, providing coaching, training, and guidance to optimize their performance and professional growth.
7. Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and measure supply chain performance, regularly reporting progress to senior management.
8. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, reduce costs, and enhance overall supply chain performance.
9. Identify and mitigate potential risks within the supply chain, implementing appropriate risk management strategies and contingency plans.
10. Stay abreast of industry trends, advancements, and innovations in supply chain management, recommending and implementing relevant updates to improve operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. Proven experience (at least 10 years) in supply chain management, with a focus on transportation and logistics.
3. Strong knowledge and understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes, including procurement, planning, warehousing, transportation, and distribution.
4. Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of successfully managing and developing high-performing teams.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and make strategic decisions.
6. In-depth knowledge of supply chain technologies, systems, and tools, including ERP and warehouse management systems.
7. Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
8. Proven ability to drive process improvements and implement best practices to enhance supply chain performance and efficiency.
9. Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance in supply chain management.
10. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
